Munnar is one of the most popular hill stations in India. It is located 1600 Metres above sea level. It was once the summer resort of British government in South India and it is really a breathtakingly beautiful tourist destination in God’s own country. Unending expanse of tea plantations, valleys and mountains, exotic species of Flora and Fauna are the salient features of Munnar. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, which towers over 2695 meter.

Cheeyapara & Valara Waterfalls : Its located on the way to Munnar from Cochin.
Rajamala (Eravikulam National Park) : Rajamala is around 15 kms from Munnar town and is the natural habitat of the Nilghiri Thar. It is around 2695 Mts above the sea level. Half of the world’s population of rare mountain goat or thar is now found here. Rajamala region is one of the three regions of Eravikulam National Park and visitors are allowed only in this region.

Mattupetty : Mattupetty Lake and Dam is a very beautiful picnic spot and is situated at a height of 1700 mtrs. Boating facilities are available in Mattupetty Dam. Speedboat and motor boats are available here.

Timings : 10 am to 5 pm.
Echo Point : It’s around 16 kms from Munnar town. This place gets its name from the natural Echo phenomenon. It’s noted for 2 acres of evergreen forest upon a huge rock. The rock is more than 500 acres in area.
Kundala : The sprawling Kundala tea plantations and Kundala lake are other attractions in the vicinity. Boating facilities are available at Kundala Lake.
Pothamedu : Its around 6 km from Munnar town. Pothamedu offers an excellent view of the tea and cardamom plantations in Munnar.
CSI Church : The British built Christ Church in 1910 AD. Built of stone, the church is known for its stained glass windows. There are several brass plaques in the church places in the memory of the tea planters.
On the way to Thekkady :
Lock Heart Gap : Its 13 km from Munnar. The fresh mountain air, the mist – clad hills and panoramic view make it worthy of a visit.
Anayirangal : Its 22 kms from Munnar. It’s a lush green carpet of tea plants. The Anayirangal dam is surrounded by Tata Tea Plantations and evergreen forests.
